AI Use & Limitations Policy
LegalDreams uses a third-party AI provider (see our Subprocessors page) to power AI-assisted drafting and document Q&A, grounded in the documents already on your matter. This page explains the philosophy and guardrails behind that today, and the roadmap for what's next - including an independent, searchable case-law corpus that isn't live yet.
AI is assistive, not authoritative
AI features are designed to help advocates move faster on drafting and document research - not to replace professional legal judgment.
Source grounding over generic generation
AI output is tied to identifiable sources - the documents already on your matter - rather than unattributed text. Verification against an external case-law database is on our roadmap.
Human review is required
Every AI-assisted draft or research result must be reviewed and verified by a qualified advocate before it is relied upon, filed, or sent to a client - this is a workflow requirement, not just a suggestion.
Outputs can contain errors
AI systems can produce incorrect, incomplete, or outdated information, including incorrect citations. LegalDreams does not guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated content.
Quality depends on your inputs
AI output quality depends heavily on the source documents and context you provide. Incomplete or ambiguous inputs will produce lower-quality output.
You remain responsible
As the advocate or authorized user, you remain responsible for any document you file, any advice you give, and any communication you send - regardless of whether AI assisted in producing it.
Source Provenance
Where AI features surface a citation or reference today, it links back to the specific document and passage on your own matter it was drawn from - so you can check the basis for any suggestion before relying on it. Verification against an independent, external case-law database is on our roadmap. We do not display verification badges or confidence indicators that are not backed by an actual check.
High-Risk Workflows
As the platform develops, LegalDreams may restrict or block AI assistance for workflows judged to carry a high risk of harm if used without careful review, and will clearly flag such limitations rather than silently degrading output quality.
